Julien Vidal
French Air Force
1/62 transport squadron vercors
As I aready say before, I'm passionated by planes and it was more obvious when I was younger. I always asked my father if he can take me with him in his plane when he could have one. More, I asked my granfather to told me about his work as mecanincian on the aircraft carrier Foch or for National Institute for Geographic and Forest Information.
In France, I do not know for other countries but during our junior secondary high school, we have to passed an internship for 2 days in the work field we want. After negociations with my direction and according to my passions, I had been authorized to spend 5 days in a military base: the Air base 110 wing commander Guy de la Horie of Creil.
This base is specialized in transport field but it also welcomed an emergency patrol of two interceptors which are able to take off in a couple of minutes to identify, intercept and eliminate the threat.
Now this base is become an inter-army base with the White Book Reform of 2011.
In 2005, year of my internship, I had been affected to the 1/62 transport squadron Vercors. Equipped with Casa CN-235, its main mission is to transport and deliver supplies or troops in conflict areas.
I think it was one of my best and memorable work experience. It made me love even more planes and their engineering.
