Gala GI 2013

I do not really know what can I say to describe this event, the title and the picture are here to sum up the idea.

As you can see, in this one of the biggest event of the year and for those who do not know what a gala is, I think you can imagined it is the same as the prom in every American movie. Of course, it is not the same impact and the same number of people that for a prom or the gala of the INP but it is a pleasure to see teachers and colleagues with a different face.

What is special in GI is the fact it is not only an association as the BDE or the BDA that organised this event but it is an association which is created with all the students of the school - whatever their promotion - from the moment they want to organised it. When you are not in the BDE, the BDA or the BDS, there is not a lot to do in the associative life in first year that is why I wanted to do something interesting and different.

We were 7:

  • Five 2nd years from the BDE, the BDA, the BDS

  • One 1st year, me.

  • One 3rd year to help us with the decoration .

Since the beginning, I had the impression I was older because the
organisation and the vocabulary used where those of an engineer and
not just those a normal student, it was very profesional.
Yet, according to my young experience, I could not pretend to some

positions as chairman or treasurers but I find my place as Promotion

responsible. In that position, I was in charge of the Facebook account,

the mailing and creating the visual of the gala in parallel with the

collective decisions we had to take.

You can see next some of the creations I helped to design:

It was a really good opportunity to work with more experienced people than me and to discover the background of a party and to do something different and maybe something I will never do again.

I was offered the chairman position in 2013 as I was the only first year in 2012 but I did not accepted because it was too much work with my other commitments.
